Living with Disease: A Conversation on Life After Diagnosis

06/10/2021

Living a full life after a diagnosis, or managing a chronic disease, is a relatively new focus in global health and healthcare. To celebrate National Cancer Survivor Month in the United States (U.S.) in June, we will delve into the topic of living with a disease and explore what this means for individuals around the world. Our session will feature opening remarks by Adam Lenkowsky, SVP and General Manager, U.S. Cardiovascular, Immunology and Oncology at Bristol Myers Squibb, who has extensive experience supporting patients through delivery of transformational medicine and has been instrumental in the design and creation of Bristol Myers Squibb’s Integrated Oncology Operating model to drive speed and success for marketed and pipeline oncology assets. He will then moderate an interactive panel conversation with leading voices in the field of patient advocacy. This includes Kimberly Richardson, who is a Research Advocate at the University of Illinois Cancer Center and will share her survivorship journey, as well as Shelley Fuld Nasso, MPP who is the CEO of the National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship (NCCS) and Julia Rowland, Ph.D. who serves as a Senior Strategic Advisor to Smith Center for Healing and the Arts. We’ll then spend an hour in breakout groups together, working to create meaningful change.
