The Advocacy Exchange is a global community that unites advocacy organizations, patients and industry leaders to improve patient outcomes. A virtual platform, The Exchange is co-created and “always on” to promote meaningful engagement and partnership across disease areas, break-down knowledge barriers, and spark innovation.

  • The Advocacy Exchange was first launched in May 2020 by Bristol Myers Squibb and GRYT Health in response to patient advocate needs during the pandemic.
  • Launched in 2020, today The Advocacy Exchange is the largest cross-disease, cross-cultural advocacy initiative of its kind in healthcare, bringing together more than 59,300 people from 120 countries since launching.
  • By harnessing real-world patient experiences and voices, The Advocacy Exchange is making the health care journey better for future generations and creating lasting and sustainable impact.

The Advocacy Exchange offers various resources to connect, engage and learn, including:

  • Virtual conversations and capacity-building sessions with advocacy leaders and health professionals
  • Working groups focused on addressing priorities identified by the advocacy community
  • A virtual exhibitor space featuring a searchable resource library of over 700 resources
  • Social media channels to stay up to date on advocacy-related information and engage in real-time conversations
  • A newsroom

As a result of our efforts, we have fostered meaningful conversations, driven education and ultimately helped democratize patient advocacy values, insights and approaches. Every conversation and every action sparked from The Advocacy Exchange help strengthen not only our understanding of what health can and should be, but also our community as a whole.

The Advocacy Exchange is the natural evolution of the COVID Advocacy Exchange (CAE), a first-of-its-kind platform offering live, interactive discussions through which patient voices are heard, and a virtual exhibit hall where participating organizations can share resources and learn from one another – all available free of charge, 24/7 at www.TheAdvocacyExchange.com.

While the pandemic and its effects continue to be felt, we are moving into a new chapter where we have the opportunity to expand and enhance the Exchange to best serve the advocacy community’s current and future needs. As such, we felt it was appropriate to remove the word “COVID” from the name of this platform to more accurately reflect the goal of this resource to support advocacy efforts, broadly.

Bristol Myers Squibb and GRYT Health are industry leaders connecting patient advocacy organizations in an innovative entirely virtual approach. GRYT Health is a digital oncology company with a social purpose who created both the Global Virtual Cancer Conference and the GRYT Health platform, which offers opportunities for connection and learning, paired with research, marketing and clinical trial services that put people and caregivers first. Bristol Myers Squibb is a global biopharmaceutical company whose mission is to discover, develop and deliver innovative medicines that help patients prevail over serious diseases.

The Advocacy Exchange remains available to global and local patient advocacy organizations and members of their communities, spanning disease states.

Registration and access to the Advocacy Exchange are free.

The Advocacy Exchange offers the opportunity to participate in live virtual sessions, Working Group discussions, and provides free access to materials from Bristol Myers Squibb, patient advocacy organizations and third-party experts through the virtual exhibitor space, as well as the ability to view recordings of previous virtual sessions on-demand and connect with fellow advocates in a dedicated chatroom, 24/7. Additionally, the Advocacy Exchange features a newsroom and searchable resource library. Future planned enhancements to the platform include an opt-in member directory, “Ask an Advocate” forum, and a method to submit ideas/express interest in further involvement in the Exchange through the platform itself.

In ongoing collaboration with the global patient advocacy community, we plan to continue enhancing the Advocacy Exchange to create a lasting coalition and platform that exists for the long-term, covering critical topics of importance to the advocacy community.
